How to make a browser game with AI

You don't need to know how to program to make a small browser game any more. Here is the workflow most of the games on Zadely followed.

Pick a tool

No code at all: Google Labs launched Playground in October 2026. You describe a game in plain words and it builds a playable browser version you can share.

A little code: AI coding agents such as Claude Code, OpenAI Codex and Cursor write the game files for you, and you open them in a browser. You get full control and can publish anywhere.

Start small

Describe one core loop in one or two sentences: "A top-down game where you steer a tank with the arrow keys and shoot crates. Use HTML5 Canvas in a single index.html file." A small, clear first prompt gets you to something playable fast.

Play, then ask for one change at a time

Open the game, play it for a minute, and describe the one thing that feels worst: "Shooting feels weak. Add screen shake and a muzzle flash." Then repeat. Most of the jam winners on Zadely took dozens of these small rounds.

Publish it

Static hosts such as GitHub Pages, Netlify, Vercel and Cloudflare Pages are free for small games. Upload the folder and you'll get a link you can share.

Enter a jam

The AI Browser Game Jam on itch.io (5th edition: October 17 to 31, 2026) and the yearly Vibe Jam give you a deadline, a theme and players. Several games on Zadely, including Plug & Prosper and WenWare, started as jam entries.

Made something? Tell us about it and we may add it to Zadely.
