Find a valid answer before looking for a clever one

Use the first part of the timer to identify the category and its boundaries. For example, a prompt about an animal and a prompt about a sea animal leave different options open. Keep one answer you trust in reserve while you consider a less familiar alternative. This is an editorial practice routine, not a guarantee of a particular score.

When you think of an unusual answer, check it against the actual wording once more. Spending the entire round searching for the rarest possibility can leave you with nothing submitted.
