About Monster Mash

A stylish 2D Halloween brawler with six monster fighters, crisp Rive vector art, touch joystick controls and unique spooky special moves.

Select your fighter from a roster of six archetypal Halloween creatures, including a vampire count, a towering Frankenstein monster, an agile mummy, and a bone-rattling skeleton warrior. Each monster features unique normals, combos, and super moves.

Duke it out in 2D platform brawler arenas with reactive physics. On mobile devices, Monster Mash provides a responsive virtual thumbstick and on-screen attack buttons, while desktop players can execute crisp directional inputs and combo links on keyboard.

How Monster Mash was made with AI

Monster Mash was developed for the official Rive Halloween Challenge using the Rive CLI paired with Claude Code. The project leverages Rive's state machines and skeletal vector animation to deliver buttery-smooth 60fps fighter animations at minimal file sizes with instant browser loading.
